My name is Chukwuyere Ebere Izuogu and I love all things tech policy.

I am a qualified Solicitor in Nigeria and currently a Partner and the head of the Telecoms, Media, and Technology practice at Streamsowers & Köhn. I also hold the position of Senior Digital Policy Fellow at Research in Digital Economy. My legal and research interests focus on the legal and public policy issues of the digital economy and technology. Previously, I served as a Senior Research Fellow at the African Academic Network on Internet Policy and a Tech Policy Fellow at Mozilla Foundation.

As a Solicitor, I provide regular advice to businesses operating in the digital economy, such as ISPs, MNOs, social media networks, software manufacturers, e-commerce platforms, OEMs, and cloud providers. As a tech policy researcher, I have led or participated in groundbreaking research for local and international civil society organisations, non-profits, international development organisations, and think tanks, such as the New Venture Fund, Behavioural Insight Team, African Academic Network on Internet Policy, Mozilla Foundation, World Wide Web Foundation, Alliance for Affordable Internet, Tetra Tech International Development, Simply Secure and Open Society Initiative for West Africa, in support of their mission objectives regarding the digital economy. I am the author of Regulating Anti-competitive Practices in Nigeria’s Communications Sector, (Wolf Legal Publishers, Netherlands, January 2017).

I obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B) from the University of Benin, Nigeria (2003), a Barrister-at-Law professional certificate from the Nigeria Law School (2005), and a Master of Law (LL.M) degree in Information Technology & Intellectual Property Law (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Hannover, Germany and Strathclyde University, Scotland (2009). I am a Certified Information Privacy Professional-Europe (CIPP/E) and a British Computer Society (BCS) Certified Practitioner of Data Protection. I am also an alumnus of the Summer School on the Law, Ethics and Policy of AI at KU Leuven.
